Bravecto

112.5 mg, fluralaner 112.5 mg, chewable tablet for dogs 2-4.5 kg
Assessed clinical scopeDog · Labelled treatment and sustained control of susceptible flea and tick infestations in dogs within the presentation's exact weight band · By mouth
Care settingVeterinary-selected outpatient ectoparasite treatment
vetman score 8.8/10 Very good
Evidence confidence: High Georgia: Yes, veterinary · № 369-11 · Verified on 21 Oct 2026

A highly effective, long-interval flea and tick option with excellent regulatory support; select the exact whole-tablet weight band and use neurologic caution.

Regulatory and scientific credibility9.5/10

The exact chewable range is centrally authorised in the EU, has current official product information, FDA labelling and active Georgian veterinary registration for all five strengths.

Clinical efficacy9.0/10

Randomised field evidence and regulatory assessment support very high flea and tick efficacy from one correctly dosed tablet for up to 12 weeks; duration varies for particular tick species and transmission is not instantaneous.

Safety and tolerability7.5/10

The safety profile is well characterised and most adverse effects are uncommon or very rare, but gastrointestinal reactions, pruritus and rare neurologic reactions including tremor, ataxia and convulsion require explicit caution, especially with pre-existing epilepsy.

Clinical practicality9.5/10

A single palatable tablet with food provides a long interval and is operationally simple; accurate weighing and whole-tablet selection are essential because tablets must not be divided.

Full-course cost-effectiveness-

Price was not assessed and is excluded from the overall score.

Important safety and use flags

  • Do not use in hypersensitivity to fluralaner or an excipient.
  • Use with caution in dogs with pre-existing epilepsy; counsel for tremor, ataxia or seizures.
  • Use only the whole tablet assigned to this presentation's weight band (2-4.5 kg); do not divide the tablet. Do not use below 8 weeks or 2 kg, and do not repeat at intervals shorter than 8 weeks.

Assessed clinical scopeCat · Full cat label: treatment of Ctenocephalides felis flea and Ixodes ricinus tick infestations with 12-week activity, use in a flea-allergy dermatitis strategy, and single-dose treatment of Otodectes cynotis ear mites within the exact pipette weight band · On the skin
Care settingVeterinary-selected outpatient ectoparasite treatment after exact weighing and parasite-risk assessment
vetman score 8.4/10 Very good
Evidence confidence: High Georgia: No · Verified on 15 Oct 2026

A highly effective long-interval feline spot-on with strong exact-product regulation and direct cat studies across its full flea, tick, FAD-strategy and ear-mite label. Its absence from the Georgian register, application-site reactions and uncommon-to-very-rare neurologic events remain material limitations.

Regulatory and scientific credibility8.5/10

The exact pipette is supported by a current detailed VMD SPC and active EU, UK and US authorisations. It is explicitly not registered in the checked Georgian veterinary register, which limits local regulatory standing without weakening the foreign dossier.

Clinical efficacy9.0/10

Randomised field evidence supports about 99% flea-count reduction through 12 weeks after one topical dose; controlled and natural-infestation studies support the ear-mite claim. Tick efficacy and the exact species-duration scope are regulator assessed, but parasites must feed and transmission cannot be excluded.

Safety and tolerability7.5/10

Mild transient application-site reactions are common; tremor, lethargy, anorexia, vomiting or hypersalivation are uncommon, and ataxia or convulsion are very rare. Pregnancy and lactation safety is unestablished, and human skin, eye, ingestion and flammability precautions are substantial.

Clinical practicality8.8/10

One exact weight-banded pipette provides a 12-week flea/tick interval and a single ear-mite dose. Accurate skin placement, gloves, prevention of grooming and up to 48 hours before close contact add technique; cats above 6.25 kg require two application spots.

Full-course cost-effectiveness-

Price was not assessed and is excluded from the overall score.

Important safety and use flags

  • Do not use with hypersensitivity to fluralaner or an excipient. Apply only to intact skin; avoid the eyes, never give orally and prevent recently treated cats from grooming each other.
  • Do not use below 9 weeks of age or below 1.2 kg. Do not repeat at intervals shorter than 8 weeks; routine flea/tick retreatment is risk-based, with 12 weeks the labelled optimal interval.
  • Monitor the application site for erythema, pruritus or alopecia and the cat for tremor, lethargy, anorexia, vomiting, hypersalivation, ataxia or convulsion; persistent or marked signs require reassessment.
  • Safety during pregnancy and lactation is not established; use only after the responsible veterinarian documents a benefit-risk assessment.
  • Wear the supplied gloves. Avoid skin and eye exposure, ingestion and ignition sources; keep children and close contact, including cuddling or shared bedding, away until the application site is no longer noticeable, which can take up to 48 hours.
  • Fleas and ticks must attach and feed, so vector-borne transmission cannot be excluded. Confirm parasite risk, address infected household animals and avoid unnecessary or underdosed use that can select resistance.
  • Use the complete 112.5 mg pipette only for cats 1.2-2.8 kg and apply in one spot at the skull base. For ear mites, use one dose and re-examine at 28 days because an alternative treatment may be needed.

Bravecto

1400 mg, fluralaner 1400 mg, chewable tablet for dogs 40-56 kg
Assessed clinical scopeDog · Labelled treatment and sustained control of susceptible flea and tick infestations in dogs within the presentation's exact weight band · By mouth
Care settingVeterinary-selected outpatient ectoparasite treatment
vetman score 8.8/10 Very good
Evidence confidence: High Georgia: Yes, veterinary · № 365-11 · Verified on 21 Oct 2026

  • Use only the whole tablet assigned to this presentation's weight band (>40-56 kg); do not divide the tablet. Do not use below 8 weeks or 2 kg, and do not repeat at intervals shorter than 8 weeks.

Assessed clinical scopeCat · Full labelled feline scope when flea or tick treatment and at least one additional parasite indication are required concurrently: fleas, ticks, ear mites, gastrointestinal nematodes, heartworm and lungworm prevention · On the skin
Care settingVeterinary-selected integrated feline parasite control after risk assessment and exact weighing
vetman score 8.6/10 Very good
Evidence confidence: High Georgia: Yes, veterinary · № 373-11 · Verified on 15 Oct 2026

A strong long-interval integrated parasite product for cats when its fixed multi-parasite scope matches the patient; avoid using the combination when only a single target needs treatment.

Regulatory and scientific credibility9.5/10

The exact feline range is centrally authorised in the EU with current combined official product information and strong indication-specific trials; Georgian registration is shown separately per presentation.

Clinical efficacy9.0/10

Randomised field and controlled studies show high, sustained efficacy across fleas, ticks and labelled nematodes, including lungworm prevention; the fixed combination is appropriate only when ectoparasite control and another labelled parasite target are needed together.

Safety and tolerability7.0/10

Generally well tolerated, but transient skin, gastrointestinal and rare neurologic reactions are recognised; young or underweight cats, reproduction, adult heartworm assessment and P-glycoprotein inhibitor combinations require specific precautions.

Clinical practicality9.0/10

One whole weight-banded pipette gives broad long-interval coverage, but direct skin placement, prevention of grooming, indication-specific retreatment and pre-treatment parasite-risk assessment are essential.

Full-course cost-effectiveness-

Price was not assessed and is excluded from the overall score.

Important safety and use flags

  • Use only when treatment against ticks or fleas and at least one other labelled parasite is indicated concurrently; this fixed combination is not justified for a single target alone.
  • Do not use in hypersensitivity; treatment is not recommended below 9 weeks or 1.2 kg, in breeding males, during pregnancy or lactation.
  • In heartworm-risk areas, assess for adult Dirofilaria infection before prevention; the product does not treat adult heartworms.
  • Review concurrent P-glycoprotein inhibitors such as ciclosporin, ketoconazole, spinosad or verapamil and use only after benefit-risk assessment.

vetman score 5.5/10 Weak evidence support
Evidence confidence: Low Georgia: Yes, veterinary · № 000786, 000815, 000816, 000817, 000818 · Verified on 15 Oct 2026

A convenient, locally authorised 12-week fluralaner option with an exact five-band manufacturer label, but only indirect sponsor-linked reference-product efficacy and no independent Power Gold equivalence, outcome or safety study.

Regulatory and scientific credibility4.0/10

The exact composition, five strengths, dose table and current Georgian and Costa Rican veterinary authorisations are traceable, but the public clinical dossier is the manufacturer insert; no independent Power Gold assessment report, equivalence study or exact EU/GB/US authorisation was located.

Clinical efficacy4.0/10

The manufacturer label claims 12-week control of two flea species and R. sanguineus. Randomised studies support the same active, concentration, strengths and 25 mg/kg regimen in the Bravecto reference formulation, but they are sponsor-linked or formulation-transferred and no Power Gold equivalence or outcome study verifies efficacy transfer.

Safety and tolerability6.5/10

The exact insert identifies uncommon transient gastrointestinal effects and rare seizure/lethargy reports, with epilepsy caution and age/weight limits. Class pharmacovigilance adds tremor and ataxia, while exact-product frequency, repeated-use and independent reproductive safety data remain limited.

Clinical practicality9.0/10

One whole palatable chew with food and a 12-week interval is highly workable, with five clear weight bands. Current weighing and confirmation of ingestion are simple, but printed decimal gaps and no above-56-kg combination instruction require strict label boundaries.

Full-course cost-effectiveness-

A current Georgian exact-strength retail price was not verified; cost is excluded from the denominator.

Important safety and use flags

  • Use only in dogs. The exact label covers C. felis, C. canis and R. sanguineus; do not silently extend the score to cats, other tick species, mites or unrelated fluralaner claims.
  • Weigh immediately before dosing and use one complete unit from the exact printed band: 112.5 mg (>2–4.5 kg), 250 mg (4.6–10 kg), 500 mg (10.1–20 kg), 1000 mg (20.1–40 kg) or 1400 mg (40.1–56 kg). Exactly 2 kg and the printed decimal gaps have no assigned dose.
  • Do not divide a chew, interpolate the printed decimal gaps or copy Bravecto’s tablet-combination rule above 56 kg. The exact Power Gold label supplies no above-56-kg regimen.
  • Give with food or immediately after feeding, confirm the complete unit was swallowed and redose only after 12 weeks at veterinary discretion; never repeat sooner than 8 weeks.
  • Not recommended in dogs younger than 8 weeks or weighing less than 2 kg. Do not use with known hypersensitivity to fluralaner or an excipient.
  • Review epilepsy or epileptiform history. Stop and assess tremor, ataxia, seizure, marked lethargy or other neurologic change; isoxazoline neurologic reactions can occur even though most treated dogs tolerate the class.
  • Mild transient vomiting, diarrhoea, inappetence or salivation can occur. Confirm ingestion after vomiting and seek veterinary direction rather than automatically redosing.
  • The exact insert permits pregnancy/lactation and reports use in MDR1-deficient dogs, but independent Power Gold reproductive, breeding and MDR1 safety studies were not located; retain a veterinarian-led benefit–risk decision.
  • Review concurrent highly protein-bound medicines, including NSAIDs. No interaction has been reported in the exact insert, but fluralaner is highly protein-bound and exact-product interaction evidence is limited.
  • Parasites must attach and feed, so pathogen transmission cannot be completely excluded. Verify parasite identity, weight, administration and reinfestation pressure before calling failure; report suspected adverse events or resistance and do not redose early.

This supplies at least 25 mg/kg. One dose controls label fleas and Rhipicephalus sanguineus for 12 weeks; repeat after 12 weeks at veterinary discretion.
