Serious and fatal reactions have been reported in patients receiving concurrent administration of CIPRO and theophylline. These reactions have included cardiac arrest, seizure, status epilepticus, and respiratory failure. Major warning
Marbofloxacin + Theophylline
Fluoroquinolones can increase serum theophylline concentrations. When marbofloxacin and theophylline are used together, monitor theophylline closely because its therapeutic range is narrow and toxicity may occur.Recommendation: If concomitant use is necessary, monitor serum theophylline and be prepared to reduce its dose. Alternatively, choose another antibiotic.Sources: VMD SPC · VMD
