Nobivac Lepto

suspension for injection, 1 ml dose for dogs
Assessed clinical scopeDog · Full dog label from 8 weeks: reduce clinical leptospirosis, bacteraemia and leptospiruria caused by the included Canicola and Icterohaemorrhagiae serogroups · Subcutaneous
Care settingPreventive veterinary vaccination with examination, cold-chain control and emergency treatment available
vetman score 7.5/10 Good
Evidence confidence: High Georgia: Yes, veterinary · № 180-11 · Verified on 21 Oct 2026

A well-characterised bivalent leptospirosis vaccine that can protect against its two included serogroups, but it is a narrower and more frequently repeated option than modern four-serovar products and should be chosen only after local epidemiologic comparison.

Regulatory and scientific credibility9.0/10

The exact one-dose product is registered in Georgia and has a current regulator-hosted EU SPC with transparent potency, compatibility, safety frequencies and six- versus twelve-month duration claims.

Clinical efficacy6.5/10

Vaccination against leptospirosis is strongly supported, but protection is predominantly serogroup-specific: this bivalent Canicola/Icterohaemorrhagiae product omits other currently important serogroups, and its Icterohaemorrhagiae clinical duration is only six months.

Safety and tolerability7.5/10

Most reactions are local and transient and use in pregnancy is permitted, but swelling is very common, anaphylaxis can be life-threatening and very rare immune-mediated haemolytic anaemia, thrombocytopenia or polyarthritis is labelled.

Clinical practicality6.5/10

The fixed 1 ml dose and authorised mixing with selected Nobivac vaccines are helpful, but two priming visits and six-month revaccination for the shorter component create more burden than current annual four-serovar alternatives.

Full-course cost-effectiveness-

Important safety and use flags

  • This bivalent vaccine covers Canicola and Icterohaemorrhagiae; vaccine protection is largely serogroup-specific and does not reliably substitute for missing relevant serogroups.
  • Give two primary doses 2-4 weeks apart. For Icterohaemorrhagiae clinical protection the label recommends revaccination every 6 months rather than relying on an annual interval.
  • Hypersensitivity and anaphylaxis can be life-threatening; observe after vaccination and have immediate treatment available.
  • Injection-site swelling is very common and may be firm or painful. Very rare immune-mediated haemolytic anaemia, thrombocytopenia and polyarthritis are labelled.
  • The current product information permits use during pregnancy; vaccinate healthy animals only.
  • Mix only with the specifically authorised compatible Nobivac vaccines and give same-day Nobivac Rabies separately as directed; other combinations require individual assessment.
  • Bring the vial to room temperature, maintain refrigerated storage, do not freeze and use immediately after opening.
