Aseptically reconstitute with the suspension, shake and immediately inject the entire 1 ml SC dose. Give two doses 2-3 weeks apart from 8 weeks, then annually. If rabies protection is needed, use DHPPi+LR for the second dose, not before 12 weeks. Vaccinate healthy dogs only. Antiparasitic treatment should precede vaccination by at least 10 days and strenuous work is discouraged for one week. Very rare hypersensitivity or pea-sized local reaction lasting up to three weeks may occur. May be used in pregnancy, but avoid the final two weeks before whelping; lactation safety is not established. Other medicines require case-by-case assessment. Store 2-8 C, do not freeze, protect from light and use immediately after reconstitution.

Biocan DHPPi+L

lyophilisate and suspension, 1 ml dose for dogs
Assessed clinical scopeDog · Full dog label from 8 weeks: CDV, CAV, CPV, CPiV and three-serogroup leptospirosis immunisation with annual revaccination · Subcutaneous
Care settingPreventive veterinary vaccination of a healthy dog with examination and cold-chain control
vetman score 8.1/10 Very good
Evidence confidence: Medium Georgia: Yes, veterinary · № 194-11 · Verified on 21 Oct 2026

A very good, established core-plus-leptospirosis vaccine for dogs from 8 weeks. Its annual core boosting and three-serogroup leptospiral cover are older than current four-serogroup, three-year-core options.

Regulatory and scientific credibility9.0/10

The exact presentation is registered in Georgia (194-11) and in Czechia since 2002 (97/046/02-C) with a current public SPC.

Clinical efficacy7.5/10

The live core antigens and parainfluenza give useful protection from 14 days after the primary course, but all components are labelled for one year and the leptospiral fraction omits the Australis serogroup.

Safety and tolerability8.0/10

The label reports only very rare local or hypersensitivity reactions and permits use in pregnancy except the last two weeks before whelping.

Clinical practicality7.5/10

Two 1 ml doses 2-3 weeks apart and one dose a year are simple; rabies needs Biocan DHPPi+LR or a separate vaccine, and core antigens are boosted every year.

Full-course cost-effectiveness-

No verified current Georgian price or patient-adjusted course cost was found; foreign prices were not substituted.

Important safety and use flags

  • The leptospiral fraction covers Icterohaemorrhagiae, Canicola and Grippotyphosa but not Australis; where Australis exposure matters, prefer a four-serogroup vaccine.
  • It contains no rabies antigen. Where rabies vaccination is required, give the second puppy dose as Biocan DHPPi+LR from 12 weeks or use a separate rabies vaccine.
  • Maternal antibody can interfere with the core response; finish the core series at 16 weeks or later when maternal antibody is likely.
  • Give antiparasitic treatment at least 10 days before vaccination and avoid strenuous exercise for a week after it. Observe for rare local or hypersensitivity reactions.
  • It may be used in pregnancy but avoid the last two weeks before whelping; safety in lactation is not established.
  • No data support use with other veterinary medicines except the Biocan combinations on the label; do not mix otherwise.
  • Store at 2-8 C, do not freeze and inject the whole reconstituted 1 ml immediately.
