Biocan Novel DHPPi/L4

lyophilisate and suspension, 1 ml dose for dogs
Assessed clinical scopeDog · Full dog label from 6 weeks: core CDV, CAV-1/2 and CPV protection plus CPiV and four-serogroup leptospirosis immunisation · Subcutaneous
Care settingPreventive veterinary vaccination of a healthy dog with examination, cold-chain control and emergency treatment available
vetman score 8.4/10 Very good
Evidence confidence: High Georgia: Yes, veterinary · № 151-11 · Verified on 21 Oct 2026

A very good, transparent all-in-one puppy and adult vaccine combining long-duration core protection with four-serogroup leptospirosis cover. The two-dose label minimum must still fit a puppy programme that finishes the core series at 16 weeks or later when maternal antibody is likely.

Regulatory and scientific credibility9.0/10

The exact presentation is registered in Georgia (151-11) and has a current EU national authorisation with a detailed SPC giving strains, potency, onset and duration of immunity.

Clinical efficacy8.5/10

Live CDV, CAV and CPV core components have strong consensus support and a labelled three-year duration; the four-serogroup leptospiral fraction includes Australis and matches current ACVIM advice, while CPiV and Leptospira need annual boosting.

Safety and tolerability8.0/10

Benefit-risk is favourable in healthy dogs: transient injection-site swelling up to 5 cm is common, gastrointestinal or hypersensitivity reactions are rare, and live-strain shedding plus pregnancy restrictions need attention.

Clinical practicality8.0/10

One fixed 1 ml subcutaneous dose and three-yearly core revaccination are practical; reconstitution, immediate use, the cold chain and a separate annual Pi/L4 dose add manageable clinic work.

Full-course cost-effectiveness-

No verified current Georgian price or patient-adjusted course cost was found; foreign prices were not substituted.

Important safety and use flags

  • Do not use with hypersensitivity to the aluminium hydroxide adjuvant or an excipient. Vaccinate clinically healthy dogs only.
  • Maternal antibody can delay the CDV, CAV and CPV response. Fit the two-dose label course into a puppy series whose last core dose is given at 16 weeks or later when maternal antibody is likely.
  • Core components last at least three years, but CPiV and the four leptospiral serogroups last one year: give an annual Pi/L4 or equivalent booster where the risk persists.
  • Safety in pregnancy and lactation is not established and use is not recommended.
  • Vaccinated dogs can shed live CAV-2, CPiV and CPV-2b strains. Keep vaccinated dogs away from cats and other susceptible carnivores for a period and dispose of faeces hygienically.
  • Transient injection-site swelling up to 5 cm is common and settles within 14 days; rare vomiting, diarrhoea, anorexia, lethargy or hypersensitivity needs observation and prompt symptomatic treatment.
  • No data support giving it with other veterinary medicines; decide timing case by case and do not mix with other products.
  • Store at 2-8 C, do not freeze, protect from light and inject the whole reconstituted 1 ml immediately.
