Care settingPreventive veterinary vaccination of a healthy dog with examination, rabies certification where required, cold-chain control and emergency treatment available
vetman score 8.4/10 Very good
Evidence confidence: High Georgia: Yes, veterinary · № 150-11 · Verified on 21 Oct 2026

A very good complete core, leptospirosis and rabies vaccine for dogs, convenient where rabies vaccination is required. Check rabies titres before travel because the label documents incomplete seroconversion after a single dose.

Regulatory and scientific credibility9.0/10

The exact presentation is registered in Georgia (150-11) and has a current EU authorisation and English SPC with transparent strains, potency, rabies potency and duration-of-immunity claims.

Clinical efficacy8.5/10

Core and rabies components carry a labelled three-year duration and four leptospiral serogroups are covered; the label itself reports that 10% of seronegative dogs did not seroconvert to rabies after one dose and 17% stayed below the 0.5 IU/ml travel threshold.

Safety and tolerability8.0/10

Benefit-risk is favourable in healthy dogs, with common transient swelling and rare gastrointestinal or hypersensitivity reactions; it must not be used in a dog suspected of rabies, and pregnancy use is not recommended.

Clinical practicality8.0/10

A single 1 ml dose covers the full core, leptospiral and rabies programme with three-yearly core and rabies boosting; the second dose cannot be given before 12 weeks and annual Pi/L4 is still needed.

Full-course cost-effectiveness-

No verified current Georgian price or patient-adjusted course cost was found; foreign prices were not substituted.

Important safety and use flags

  • Do not use with hypersensitivity to the adjuvant or an excipient, or in a dog showing signs of rabies or suspected of rabies infection. Vaccinate clinically healthy dogs only.
  • The rabies fraction is proven after one dose from 12 weeks: do not give this vaccine as the second dose before 12 weeks of age. Use Biocan Novel DHPPi/L4 for an earlier first dose.
  • In field studies 10% of seronegative dogs did not seroconvert to rabies and 17% stayed below 0.5 IU/ml after one dose. Before travel or in high-risk areas, consider a second rabies dose or a titre test.
  • Maternal antibody can delay the core response; finish the core series at 16 weeks or later when maternal antibody is likely. CPiV and Leptospira need annual boosting, for example with Biocan Novel Pi/L4.
  • Safety in pregnancy and lactation is not established and use is not recommended.
  • Vaccinated dogs can shed live CAV-2, CPiV and CPV-2b; keep them away from cats and other susceptible carnivores after vaccination. Common transient swelling and rare gastrointestinal or hypersensitivity reactions need observation.
  • No data support use with other veterinary medicines; decide timing case by case and do not mix.
  • Store at 2-8 C, do not freeze and inject the whole reconstituted 1 ml immediately.
