A strong, practical registered dog wormer with mature combination evidence and unusually flexible quarter-tablet dosing. Keep it within its narrower parasite list, 2-40 kg range and pregnancy/interaction restrictions.

Important safety and use flags

  • Do not combine with piperazine; avoid other cholinergic or unsupervised anthelmintic combinations because antagonism or toxicity can occur.
  • Weigh accurately, confirm the parasite target and follow the exact product weight band and schedule; do not underdose or reuse a calendar interval without risk assessment.
  • Control fleas, prey, scavenging and environmental faecal contamination; treatment alone does not prevent Dipylidium, Taenia or other reinfection.
  • Monitor vomiting, diarrhoea or loose stool, lethargy, anorexia or hyperactivity; reassess persistent signs and suspected treatment failure.
  • Do not use below 2 weeks of age, at 2 kg or less, during the first two-thirds of pregnancy or with hypersensitivity; no feline use.
  • The exact table covers small and medium dogs only, over 2 kg through 40 kg. Do not extrapolate the quarter-tablet schedule above 40 kg.
  • Organophosphates or other acetylcholinesterase inhibitors may increase pyrantel effects; CYP450 inducers such as phenobarbital or dexamethasone may lower praziquantel exposure.

  • Critical Febantel (Dog)
    Do not use febantel-containing combinations during the first two-thirds of pregnancy because high doses caused teratogenic effects in several species. A single treatment during the final third or lactation may be used according to the product label; do not exceed the stated dose.
