50 mg/60 mg, fipronil 50 mg + (S)-methoprene 60 mg, spot-on solution for cats
Assessed clinical scopeCat · Full feline label scope: flea infestation, alone or with labelled tick and biting-louse infestations, flea life-cycle suppression and use within a flea-allergy-dermatitis control strategy · On the skin
Care settingSingle correctly matched pipette applied to intact, dry skin after weighing and parasite assessment, alongside environmental flea control when infestation is established
vetman score 8.1/10 Very good
Evidence confidence: High Georgia: Yes, veterinary · № 182-11, 24-11 · Verified on 15 Oct 2026

A mature, well-documented and locally registered flea-centred ectoparasiticide with useful life-cycle control. It remains a strong option when the exact species and weight pipette is used, but is not a repellent and should not be treated as guaranteed prevention of vector attachment or transmission.

Regulatory and scientific credibility9.0/10

Every exact presentation is currently registered in Georgia and remains authorised in the UK, with current official product records, exact SPCs and more than two decades of regulatory history.

Clinical efficacy7.5/10

Controlled and household field studies support adult-flea control and the added inhibition of eggs and immature stages; labelled tick and biting-louse efficacy is established, but performance depends on correct skin application, parasite species, bathing and local susceptibility.

Safety and tolerability8.0/10

Systemic exposure is low and labelled-dose tolerability is generally favourable, but application-site reactions, transient hypersalivation after licking and rare reversible neurologic or systemic signs can occur. Rabbits must not be treated, and age, weight and illness restrictions apply.

Clinical practicality8.0/10

Monthly weight-band pipettes are straightforward and cover adult fleas plus environmental life stages, but the coat must be parted to reach skin, the site must stay dry, grooming and cross-licking must be prevented, and heavy household infestations require environmental management.

Full-course cost-effectiveness-

Price was not assessed and is excluded from the overall score.

Important safety and use flags

  • The combined label is flea-centred: use for fleas alone or when fleas occur with labelled ticks and/or biting lice. Do not use the fixed combination for a tick-only or louse-only problem when the added flea life-cycle component is not justified.
  • Never use on rabbits because serious reactions and death can occur. Do not use on sick, febrile or convalescent animals, and observe the exact minimum age and weight limits.
  • Apply directly to intact skin where the animal cannot lick it; separate treated animals until dry. Licking can cause brief marked salivation, and accidental eye or human skin exposure should be rinsed promptly.
  • This product kills after exposure and is not a repellent. Parasites may attach before they die, so transmission of vector-borne infection cannot be completely excluded.
  • Avoid bathing or shampooing around treatment as directed by the exact label, keep the animal away from watercourses during the restricted period, and combine animal treatment with environmental flea control when needed.
  • Use only the feline pipette in cats; dog pipettes are not interchangeable. Confirm body weight and avoid use in kittens younger than 8 weeks or below the exact label minimum weight.
