Caniquantel Plus, Scored tablet

fenbendazole 500 mg + praziquantel 50 mg, flavoured tablet
vetman assessment
vetman’s 10-point assessment brings together a product’s regulatory credibility, clinical efficacy, safety and practicality. Cost-effectiveness is assessed only when reliable data are available. It is informational and does not replace a veterinarian’s clinical judgment for an individual patient.

Care settingVeterinary-directed outpatient or preventive care
vetman score 7.8/10 Good
Evidence confidence: Medium Georgia: Yes, veterinary · № 203-11 · Verified on 15 Oct 2026

A well-documented and practical broad-spectrum oral wormer for dogs, with good label transparency but limited independent evidence for the exact combination.

Regulatory and scientific credibility7.5/10

The exact composition, species, route and current dose table are documented by two European regulatory sources and the product has active Georgian veterinary registration (203-11); independent formulation-specific outcome evidence is limited.

Clinical efficacy7.5/10

The fenbendazole-praziquantel combination covers common susceptible roundworms and tapeworms, but efficacy depends on correct parasite identification, label schedule and local susceptibility rather than the brand name alone.

Safety and tolerability8.0/10

The reviewed exact label lists no contraindications or known adverse effects and permits use in labelled breeding schedules; correct dosing and individual hypersensitivity precautions still apply.

Clinical practicality8.5/10

A flavoured, crushable, cross-scored tablet with quarter-tablet dog bands and usually single-dose administration is highly workable across a broad weight range.

Full-course cost-effectiveness-

Price was not assessed and is excluded from the overall score.

Important safety and use flags

  • The reviewed exact label reports no contraindications or known adverse effects at the recommended dose.
  • Use parasite diagnosis and the product-specific schedule; do not derive the combination dose from either ingredient alone.

Assessed: 21 Oct 2026The overall score uses 25/25/25/15/10 weights. An unassessed price is excluded and the remaining weights are proportionally renormalised.

A practical labelled cat wormer with transparent dosing; the slightly lower safety score reflects the label's explicit feline overdose sensitivity.

Regulatory and scientific credibility7.5/10

The exact composition, feline indication, route and current dose table are documented by two European regulatory sources and the product has active Georgian veterinary registration (203-11); independent exact-formulation evidence is limited.

Clinical efficacy7.5/10

The combination provides useful labelled roundworm and tapeworm coverage in cats, subject to correct parasite diagnosis and the product-specific schedule.

Safety and tolerability7.5/10

The exact label reports no known adverse effects at the recommended dose, but notes transient nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea after overdose and greater feline sensitivity than in dogs.

Clinical practicality8.5/10

Quarter-tablet dosing, crushability and a usually single administration are practical; the fixed three-quarter-tablet band above 4 kg still requires strict adherence to this product label.

Full-course cost-effectiveness-

Price was not assessed and is excluded from the overall score.

Important safety and use flags

  • Cats are described as more overdose-sensitive than dogs; excess dosing may cause transient nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea.
  • Use the feline weight table exactly; do not calculate this combination from a single ingredient rule.
