Form Species Dose Frequency Georgia
50/2/38 mg tablets, Tablet · Dog Dog 1 tablet per 10 kg
Dog-only oral dose: crush and mix 1 tablet/10 kg with one third of the morning feed. This supplies praziquantel 5 mg/kg + ivermectin 0.2 mg/kg (200 micrograms/kg) + levamisole hydrochloride 3.8 mg/kg. Do not use below 6 months; in Collies, Shelties, Bobtails or any dog with known/suspected ABCB1/MDR1 sensitivity; during pregnancy; or in debilitated, emaciated or infectious-disease patients. The official current materials disagree on parts of the parasite spectrum and safety text. The broad Dirofilaria claim gives no life stage or prevention schedule and must not be read as adulticidal treatment or validated heartworm prevention. Confirm heartworm status and exact parasite/clinical endpoint before use. Do not exceed the dose or combine without review with additional macrocyclic lactones, pyrantel, morantel, organophosphates, neostigmine, barbiturates, benzodiazepines or valproate.

Brovanol Plus

50/2/38 mg tablets, N10 for dogs
Assessed clinical scopeDog · Complete authorised dog role: treatment and prevention across the named oral nematode, cestode, trematode, flea, louse and mite/tick claims, including the label's non-stage-specific Dirofilaria wording and repeat demodicosis regimen · By mouth
Care settingVeterinarian-selected oral parasite treatment after precise diagnosis, weight, age, breed/ABCB1 risk, heartworm status and concurrent-drug review, with verified complete food intake and endpoint-specific follow-up
vetman score 3.8/10 Poor / unconvincing
Evidence confidence: Low Georgia: Yes, veterinary · № 000180 · Verified on 23 Oct 2026

A currently registered and clearly identified dog tablet, but its official materials conflict on the complete scope and no exact controlled outcome or target-animal safety study supports the unusually broad endo/ectoparasite claims. The 200-microgram/kg ivermectin dose creates a serious ABCB1 and heartworm-assessment boundary; use is a poor, narrowly supervised option rather than a dependable broad-spectrum first choice.

Regulatory and scientific credibility5.0/10

Exact composition, N10 presentation, Georgian authorisation 000180, basic dose and core restrictions are current and verifiable. However the exact manufacturer brochure, live product page and catalogue disagree on the full parasite spectrum, contraindications and interaction detail; no internationally recognised exact-product authorisation dossier or controlled formulation outcome was found.

Clinical efficacy3.0/10

Praziquantel 5 mg/kg has a credible cestode bridge and ivermectin/levamisole have susceptible-parasite activity, but no controlled exact-combination outcome was found. The single 200-microgram/kg ivermectin exposure does not validate the unusually broad flea, hard-tick, trematode, demodicosis or unqualified Dirofilaria claims; independent demodicosis guidance uses daily titrated macrocyclic-lactone courses and the FDA comparator explicitly does not treat adult heartworms or clear microfilariae.

Safety and tolerability3.0/10

In a correctly screened non-ABCB1 adult dog, component doses are pharmacologically plausible, but the exact ivermectin exposure is 200 micrograms/kg—16 times the FDA comparator's maximum 12.5 micrograms/kg and within the exact leaflet's own 100-500 micrograms/kg intoxication range for susceptible dogs. Combined levamisole toxicity, broad interaction restrictions, contraindicated pregnancy/debilitation/infection and absent exact safety margins or adverse-event frequencies keep safety weak.

Clinical practicality4.5/10

A single crushed tablet per 10 kg in adult dogs and an N10 pack are simple when the endpoint and patient are appropriate. Practicality falls because complete intake of the medicated food must be verified, dogs below 1.5 years need divided dosing, small dogs may require less than the half-tablet score, demodicosis needs repeat treatment and monitoring, and safe selection may require ABCB1 and heartworm assessment.

Full-course cost-effectiveness-

Current Georgian price for the exact N10 presentation and patient-weight-adjusted complete course was unavailable; price is excluded from the denominator.

Important safety and use flags

  • Complete label boundary: the current product page names fleas, lice, Notoedres, Otodectes, Demodex, Dermacentor/Rhipicephalus ticks, gastrointestinal nematodes, cestodes, trematodes and Dirofilaria. The short exact leaflet and catalogue do not reproduce this scope consistently; verify the parasite and do not infer an unnamed species, stage or outcome.
  • Dose is 1 tablet/10 kg: praziquantel 5 mg/kg + ivermectin 200 micrograms/kg + levamisole hydrochloride 3.8 mg/kg. Dogs 1.5 years and older receive one dose; younger labelled dogs receive the calculated amount in two portions 24 hours apart. Document weight, fraction and complete food intake.
  • Do not use below 6 months or in Collies, Shelties or Bobtails. The broader clinical boundary is any known or suspected ABCB1/MDR1-sensitive dog, including related herding breeds and crosses: 200 micrograms/kg lies within the exact leaflet's 100-500 micrograms/kg intoxication range for genetically susceptible dogs.
  • Dirofilaria immitis/repens is listed without stage or schedule. Do not interpret this as adulticide treatment, complete microfilarial clearance or validated heartworm prevention. Test and stage according to local risk before exposure; circulating microfilariae can be followed by hypersensitivity-type reactions after ivermectin.
  • No controlled exact-product outcome was found. Praziquantel has a credible cestode bridge, but one ivermectin dose cannot validate every flea, hard-tick, mite, nematode and Dirofilaria claim, and the product-specific contribution of levamisole is unquantified.
  • For labelled demodicosis the manufacturer says repeat after 10-12 days with symptomatic therapy. Independent guidance supports gradual titration and daily systemic macrocyclic-lactone treatment with serial skin-scrape monitoring; do not assume two isolated doses establish parasitological cure.
  • Do not use in pregnancy, debilitated, emaciated or infectious-disease patients. The exact materials do not establish lactation, breeding-male, liver/kidney disease, repeated-course or overdose safety and supply no controlled target-animal margin or adverse-event frequency.
  • Avoid the catalogue-prohibited pyrantel, morantel, organophosphates and neostigmine. Review additional ivermectin/macrocyclic lactones; because GABAergic activity is enhanced, avoid unreviewed barbiturates, benzodiazepines and valproate. Neurological or cholinergic signs require urgent treatment.
  • Watch for mydriasis, depression, ataxia, tremor, drooling, weakness, recumbency, stupor, coma, vomiting/diarrhoea or breathing difficulty. A dose-related sign, suspected ABCB1 exposure or post-heartworm-treatment reaction is not routine “die-off”; provide urgent supportive care and toxicology/heartworm reassessment.
  • Store dry and dark at 1-25 C out of children's reach. Verify the exact N10 50/2/38 mg tablet, authorisation 000180, lot and expiry; do not substitute Brovanol M, Brovanol D or a livestock ivermectin/levamisole product, whose dose, species and safety differ.

Information not fully verified Crush and mix 1 tablet per 10 kg with one third of the morning feed. Dogs 1.5 years and older: one dose; younger dogs: divide the calculated dose into two portions 24 hours apart. Each full calculated dose supplies praziquantel 5 mg/kg, ivermectin 200 micrograms/kg and levamisole hydrochloride 3.8 mg/kg. For labelled demodicosis, the manufacturer says to repeat after 10-12 days with symptomatic therapy; independent guidance supports daily macrocyclic-lactone regimens with gradual escalation and serial skin-scrape monitoring rather than this sparse schedule. Verify the exact parasite and heartworm status; the label's unqualified Dirofilaria wording does not establish adulticide treatment, microfilarial clearance or a validated monthly prevention schedule.

Collie, Collie (unspecified), Collie - Scottish Rough, Collie - Scottish Smooth, Sheepdog - Old English, Sheepdog - Shetland (Sheltie), Shetland Sheepdog
Ivermectin: collies and related herding breeds with the MDR1 (ABCB1) deletion are sensitive to it. The heartworm-prevention dose (6 µg/kg) is tolerated; higher doses (the label: more than 16 times that) can cause dilated pupils, unsteadiness, tremors, coma and death. Give antiparasitic doses only to a dog tested MDR1 normal.
