Important safety and use flags

  • Do not use in puppies under 3 weeks or with marked liver or kidney dysfunction, emaciation, infection or hypersensitivity; pregnancy and lactation need veterinary supervision.
  • Do not combine with piperazine anthelmintics or cholinesterase inhibitors.
  • Pyrantel does not treat Trichuris; use a febantel, fenbendazole or milbemycin product when whipworm is diagnosed.
  • Echinococcus is zoonotic and present in Georgia: dogs with access to offal or prey need praziquantel about every 4-6 weeks as ESCCAP advises.
  • For dogs under 5 kg, give the crushed suspension immediately after mixing.

  • Gastrointestinal Nematode and Cestode Infection · By mouth (once): Crush half a tablet in 5 ml of water, shake thoroughly and immediately give 1 ml/kg with a needleless syringe. Treat when indicated; for routine prevention use quarterly and before vaccination. Do not use under 3 weeks, with marked renal/hepatic dysfunction, emaciation, infection or hypersensitivity.
