A strong registered single-dose feline wormer with mature combination evidence and practical half-tablet dosing. Its high performance does not remove the pregnancy, age, weight, interaction or reinfection-control limits.

Praziquantel-pyrantel is a mature single-dose feline combination with controlled trial support against susceptible nematodes and cestodes. The label is species- and stage-specific, and reinfection or persistent ascarids may require reassessment rather than unplanned repeat dosing.

Safety and tolerability8.0/10

Mild transient gastrointestinal or neurologic signs are extremely rare. Pregnancy, kittens under six weeks, weight below 1 kg, hypersensitivity and piperazine or unsupervised dewormer combinations remain important exclusions.

One single scored tablet per 4 kg with half-tablet steps is straightforward from 1-8 kg and can be given directly or in a little food. Dosing outside that range is not established and the tablet is not documented as palatable or crushable.

Important safety and use flags

  • Do not use during pregnancy, below 6 weeks of age or with hypersensitivity; the product may be used during lactation.
  • Do not combine with piperazine or another dewormer without veterinary advice.
  • The labelled table covers 1-8 kg. Do not treat below 1 kg and do not extrapolate above 8 kg without an exact alternative plan.
  • Monitor hypersalivation, vomiting or ataxia; these events are extremely rare but require reassessment if persistent or marked.
  • Control fleas, rodents and other intermediate hosts; Dipylidium and other tapeworm reinfection is expected if the source remains.
  • Weigh accurately and avoid frequent repeated class use or underdosing; persistent ascarids in kittens require planned reassessment.
  • Echinococcus is a zoonotic notifiable hazard; follow competent-authority guidance for treatment, follow-up and protection of people.
